"SOIL: Sowing Seeds of Change in Rural Haiti"

SOIL: Sowing Seeds of Change in Rural Haiti

After traveling to Haiti in January '07, producer/director Jennifer Benorden and the 4D Productions team has put together a 30-minute program focusing on why most of Haiti is without access to a toilet, and what SOIL is doing about it.

The short documentary provides a brief history of Haiti from Columbus to the present, and shows how global economic policies have impacted the country's access to basic human rights.

We hear from Marc Orel, the National Director of SOL, SOIL's Haitian counter-part, and Sasha Kramer, the co-founder of SOIL, and feature photographs and footage from Shada, one of the most impoverished neighborhoods in Haiti, where SOIL is set to begin a toilet project this year.

The film also features the contemporary Haitian music of Belo and RAM.

4D is intending to go back to Haiti in the summer of '07 to collect more footage and develop a longer documentary.  To support this project, send your tax-deductible donation, make checks out to SOIL and clearly mark “for 4Dtv” in the memo, to:
