Clotes Drives the SOIL Poopmobile

Clotes Alexandre drives the SOIL "Poopmobile" around Port-au-Prince several times a week to collect wastes from SOIL's EcoSan toilets and deliver them to a SOIL composting site.

The SOIL Guide to Ecological Sanitation

Released in February 2011, this 144-page document is based on SOIL’s findings from over six years of ecological sanitation experience in Haiti. Truly revolutionary, the Guide covers topics such as toilet designs, management strategies, composting techniques and lessons learned. SOIL EcoSan Trainings

SOIL conducts regular one-day trainings on how to implement ecological sanitation projects. Trainings are held in Port-au-Prince and offered in English and Haitian Creole on a rotating basis. Please email info@oursoil.org for schedule and pricing information.

SOIL Site Tours

Public tours of SOIL projects in Port-au-Prince are offered on a regular basis. Tours may include a visit to one or more of SOIL’s toilets, SOIL’s compost site or to SOIL’s experimental garden. Please email info@oursoil.org to for more information.

Sustainable Sanitation Conference

In June 2012 SOIL and UNICEF co-hosted the Sustainable Sanitation Conference in Port au Prince, Haiti. Over 150 people representing 55 organizations attended the two-day conference, which featured presentations, panel discussions, community commentary and a summary of ways forward for the sanitation sector in Haiti.
