SOIL Wins National Energy Globe Award
We are proud to announce that SOIL was selected as the Energy Globe Award winner for Haiti in 2016. The Energy Globe Award is an international environmental prize awarded annually to projects focusing on energy efficiency, renewable energies, and the conservation of resources.

SOIL was recognized for our work creating a household toilet social business, EkoLakay, that is providing sustainable, dignified sanitation services to thousands of people living in Haiti’s impoverished urban communities and setting a powerful example for how ecological sanitation can be affordably scaled globally.
We are honored that EkoLakay was recognized by the Energy Globe Award, and incredibly proud to join the ranks of other inspiring groups previously recognized by the Energy Globe Award.
Special thanks to the Energy Globe Award judges, the EkoLakay customers who have helped us make our service successful, and all of SOIL’s supporters who have made the EkoLakay program and this award possible. Thank you!
