Press Release: Lush Cosmetics Supports SOIL’s Ongoing Emergency Sanitation in Port-au-Prince
As most of our supporters are aware, despite the fact that more than 3.5 years have passed since the earthquake in Port-au-Prince, for the hundreds of thousands of people still living in tents the emergency is far from over. Even as many people have moved out of the larger camps and into permanent housing, SOIL’s emergency sanitation program is still serving over 4,000 people in the capital. Although SOIL is deeply committed to this program, we have found it to be one of the most challenging to fund.
Today, SOIL is pleased to announce that Lush Cosmetics, a UK-based handmade cosmetics company will be supporting our ongoing emergency sanitation programs in Port-au-Prince with a grant of £9,834 to be used over the next six months.
Lush Cosmetics are committed to giving back to grassroots non-profit organizations through their Charity Pot (a fund generated through the sales of Charity Pot hand and body lotion which supports projects focused on animal welfare, human rights and the environment) and the Sustainable Lush Fund (which supports environmentally and socially sustainable community projects).
SOIL is honored to partner with a company that shares our commitment to human rights and the environment and we are grateful for the opportunity to join the Lush network of organizations and individuals working towards sustainable positive change.
