Volunteer Needed: Help Us With The Household Sanitation Survey
SOIL is currently working on a Household Toilet Pilot Project in two of Haiti’s poorest neighborhoods- Shada, in Cap-Haitian and Cite Soleil, in Port-au-Prince. We completed a lengthy handwritten paper-based survey of the 3,000 or so residents of Shada, assessing socio-economic status, sanitation needs, water use, etc. Now we need someone absolutely meticulous to enter this data for us.
We are asking for 4 hours a day, 5 days a week. The rest of the time would be yours- for other work, research, volunteering or exploring Haiti. We expect to be able to offer a room in one of the SOIL offices. This work could take place in Cap-Haitien (preferred) or in Port-au-Prince, depending on your situation and needs. We expect the project to take 3-4 weeks to complete. We are flexible on the timeframe.
This is an exciting opportunity to learn Haitian Creole, volunteer for an amazing non-profit (if we do say so ourselves!) and help with a truly innovative sanitation project.
If you’d like more information or would like to apply for this volunteer position, please email SOIL at [email protected]. Thanks!

Are you still looking for volunteers?
I have education and construction experience and I volunteered in Port au Prince 2 years ago..
