SOIL featured in Ayibo Post News Article
Article by Ayibo Post journalist Lucnise Duquereste
SOIL's work was featured this week by one of our favorite Haitian news outlets AyiboPost in the article, “Cette entreprise transforme les matières fécales en compost en Haïti, (This Company Transforms Feces into Compost)” by journalist Lucnise Duquereste.
The article follows the story of how SOIL treats waste not as an endpoint for environmental degradation, but as the starting point for regeneration and renewal.
Last year alone, our team diverted 1,300+ metric tons of waste away from canals and water sources—transforming it into 345+ tons of lush, organic compost for Haiti's soils and improving quality of life for 20,000+ customers.
"We used to relieve ourselves in the open air, in plastic bags," explains Toussaint. But for the past seven years, the family has switched to SOIL's ecological toilets. - Wisly Toussaint, EkoLakay client on Oswald Durand Street, Cap-Haïtien.
